Civil War Reenactors

BATTLE OF CHALK BLUFF

SHILOH
This was a national event that drew many reenactors from Arkansas, Missouri, Tennessee, Kentucky, Louisanna and numerous other states.
MARK'S MILL
The event at Fordyce, Arkansas recreated the Confederate victory over 1,400 Union troops guarding 240 weapons sent towards Pine Bluff to resupply the Union Troops at Camden.
It is one of the few events held on the actual battlefield. Overall, everyone had a good time. Both Blue and Grey marched in the parade Saturday morning. Fordyce was celebrating its Cotton Belt Festival.
We enjoyed serious tactical from 11:30 to 2:00 Saturday afternoon. We chased the Yankees through a mile and 1/2 logging road to the battlefield. At 2:00 the Confederates pushed across the open field capturing three cannon. A resounding Confederate victory! Our unit fell in with the 7th Arkansas Infantry with Captain John Malloy.
CHALK BLUFF
On the weekend of May 5 and 6, 2007, the Rebel forces again soundly defeated the Union aggressor who attempted to cross into Arkansas over the Saint Frances River just east of Piggot. The weather cooperated, no rain or severe circumstances. Although it was warm, a significant force of cavalry, infantry and artillery congregated for this victory.
Stg. Crain was the only personnel from Wiggins to make this event. He fell in with the 7th Ark. Infantry, who as hosts for this reenactment were Yankees, the 79th Highlanders.
Cpt. John who was overall Union Commander led us gallantly to our demise. Not only blown to pieces by the Rebel artillery, but completely surrounded by their cavalry. There was no escape.
A good event with a bounty and food provided.
